much like our sense of smell, our sense of taste can trigger feelings too. when there’s a shift in the seasons i find myself getting a particular feeling while eating food. some dishes are cozy, some are comforting and some are just perfect.

this series called food/feeling is where i’m going to introduce a dish and a photo of a feeling it invokes. enjoy!

the time of year where I am so ready for a shift : ready for change in weather, ready to make new recipes to layer on more clothes and enjoy the changes in nature. fall is the time in nature to let go, shed things that are not serving us any more and just slow down.

such a great article about the season.

YogaPractice
I have realized how important it is to take time for myself. And yoga is something that always come back to no matter where I am in life. There is just something about breathing through stretches that gets me to a place that is more mindful and that mindful state is what keeps me on track. I am on a new journey and excited to see where it takes me.
This is one of my favorite yoga practices; found here.

so,howwasyourday

Most evenings at dinner our family ask each other “so, how was your day?”, Claire usually answers with the cute stories of how she woke up, went to school, played, ate pizza for lunch, etc. But when it comes to me answering that question it’s a long list. There are a few things that I have added to my day that are just for me. I look forward to those things and when I do those things I feel less stressed. I enjoy the reflection of my day during our “so, how was your day?” talks.
